Stock monitoring options for eCommerce web sites...
The superb VP-ASP eCommerce system used in our eCommerce package also has optional stock monitoring features.
About VP-ASP Inventory Control The VP-ASP inventory tracking system allows merchants to provide information to shoppers regarding their stock on hand and prevents shoppers from purchasing items that are not currently in stock. How it works When adding a product to
the database there is a switch that
lets the merchant activate the inventory control system for that
specific product. You can then establish your stock quantity and submit
the product. When viewing your Product List, those items that have a
stock quantity established will display the current quantity in stock.
When editing a product, you can enter your new stock quantity and/or
turn off inventory control for that item. When the merchant adds more of
that item to the store's stock, the merchant must edit the quantity on
hand in that product's inventory. If the inventory for a specific
product is not activated, you have the option to activate it. The stock
quantity will not be reduced until an order is completed, and the
quantity remaining in stock is displayed in the merchant's eMail. When ordering a product with the inventory control option activated, if the quantity the customer requests is less than or equal to the quantity in stock it allows them to proceed through the ordering process, otherwise it will inform them that they have exceeded the quantity available in stock and it will display the available quantity.
